BIBLICAL JUSTIFICATION FOR MAKING A STAND AGAINST THE HETERODOXIES OF THE CANTERBURY ANGLICAN COMMUNION
GOD'S TEN COMMANDMENTS CONCERNING TRUE BELIEVER'S ATTITUDE TOWARD FALSE TEACHERS
1. THE COMMAND: Beware of them!
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing wolves but inwardly are ravenous wolves." [Matthew 7:15 ]
THE REASON: They are ravenous wolves!
2. THE COMMAND: Watch out for them!
"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth, and wander into myths."
[11 Timothy 4:3-5, Acts 20:29-31]
THE REASON: They despise sound doctrine!
3. THE COMMAND: Test them!
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is the spirit of Antichrist."
I John 4: 1-3
THE REASON: They have the spirit of the Antichrist!
4. THE COMMAND: Avoid them!
"False Christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. take note of those who create dissensions and difficulties, in opposition
to the doctrine which you have been taught." [ Mark 13;22, Romans 16:17-18 ]
THE REASON: They are deceivers of the weak!
5. THE COMMAND: Do not receive them!
"If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into the house or give him greeting; for he who greets him shares his wicked work."
[ II John 10-11 ]
THE REASON: Lest you become a partaker in their evil deeds!
6. THE COMMAND: Rebuke them!
"For there are many insubordinate men, empty talkers and deceivers... They profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds... " [Titus 1: 10-13, 16 ]
THE REASON: By their works they deny God!
7. THE COMMAND: Withdraw from them!
"Whoever teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of Our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, is conceited and understands nothing... Result: quarrelling, malicious talk, ... and constant friction ... caused by men of corrupt minds, who have been robbed of the truth..." [1 Timothy 6:3-5]
THE REASON: They are devoid of the truth!
8. THE COMMAND: Have nothing to do with them!
"As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him." [Titus 3:10-11 ]
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you." [II Peter 2:1]
THE REASON: They spread damnable heresies!
9. THE COMMAND: Prophesy against them!
"The word of the Lord came to me: 'Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, prophesy and say to those who prophesy out of their OWN minds: You have not... built up the walls of the House of Israel so that it might stand in battle in the Day of the Lord!'
[Ezekiel 13: 1-5 ]
THE REASON: If you don't speak out they may turn you into dead Christians as well!
10. THE COMMAND: Separate utterly from them!
"Do not be yoked with unbelievers! ... What fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord."
[II Corinthians 6: 14-18 ]
THE REASON: They represent the force of darkness and Satan's kingdom!
